John,
Facing a deficit of around 500 votes and an automatic recount, Adam Frisch gracefully conceded defeat in the CO-03 congressional race. In what became the nation's closest U.S. House contest, Frisch can hold his head high while Lauren Boebert remains an unpopular, hateful loser.
This race should be a lesson for the Democratic Party: take no district for granted, especially in states like Colorado that pass progressive, populist policy. Democratic leadership may have ignored or shrugged off this race, but groups like CTP never did—we believed, and we still believe, that this district is flippable, especially with a terrible person like Lauren Boebert in the seat.
Case in point: with the recent tragic shooting in an LGBTQ+ night club in Colorado Springs, we see once again that Boebert and the far-right bigots she cavorts with in Congress encourage hate crimes and violence with their rhetoric and actions. While she offers the typical empty "thoughts and prayers," it is her anti-LGBTQ+ agenda that sets the stage for such horrible killings and violence. People like Boebert must be defeated and shamed to fight back effectively against their hatred.
That's why CTP did so much in this contest to defeat Boebert. With your involvement and investment, we:
- Invested in the coordinated canvassing effort led by the state Democratic party;
- Delivered over 90,000 ringless voicemails to voters featuring an actual school shooting survivor asking voters to have their voices heard by voting their values;
- Partnered with Rideshare2Vote and reached out to "low propensity" voters in CO-03 and CO-08;
- Produced some incredible persuasive video ads motivating younger voters and everyone fed up with the GOP to cast their ballots;
- Garnered hundreds of thousands of impressions from likely voters with our digital ads.
And now we are proud to support the Colorado Democrats' Recount Fund in CO-03: because every vote matters.
