Dear John,
As we gather with family and friends this week to celebrate Thanksgiving, I am thankful for our God-given rights, our U.S. Constitution, and you.
At Family Research Council, we are here as your voice in the halls of government, advocating for God's design for the family and His truth as the foundations for freedom. Our mission is to shape public policy from a biblical perspective.
Your support enables FRC to stand engaged on your behalf as the lame-duck Congress tries to cram "must-pass" legislation with policies that undermine your faith, family, and freedom.
The Left has made their radical vision for America clear and will use these last few weeks of the year to promote abortion, advance gender identity ideology, undermine parental rights, and supercharge attacks on religious liberty. So much is at stake in terms of threats to biblical principles and our constitutional freedoms.
And we can't count on all "conservative" lawmakers to stand firm, as the pressure to cave is immense.
The effects of these policies aren't just theoretical; they affect real people and ministries.
People like Barronelle Stutzman, the Washington state florist who was sued by the state because she could not in good conscience make custom floral arrangements to celebrate her long-time customer's same-sex wedding. And ministries like St. Vincent Catholic Charities, a religious adoption agency in Michigan that was sued by a lesbian couple because of the agency's sincerely held religious beliefs.
We must be vigilant in protecting biblical values and the constitutional rights of all Americans.

John, these are uncertain and turbulent times, but as the apostle Paul reminds us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God" (Philippians 4:6).
This Thanksgiving, may gratitude be an indispensable anchor to your hearts, held by the power of prayer. When we wrap thankfulness with prayer, it causes us to turn our eyes from the anxiety caused by the darkness of this world and reflect on the joy and goodness of God's redemptive plan.
At FRC, we are grateful for the responsibility and opportunities God has entrusted us in this hour. And we are thankful for faithful friends and partners like you, who continue to advance our mission through your generous financial support and prayers.
