Looking Back to Look Forward
With the season of giving upon us, we movers and shakers at Migrant Clinicians Network feel a tremendous amount of gratitude: for the work we have done in the past, the people we serve in the present, and the impact we look forward to sustaining well into the future. What began as a wish to create a collaborative network of resources for clinicians serving migrants has blossomed into an organization widely respected as a thought leader at the intersections of vulnerability, health, and migration. Looking back on our growth since 1985, we have much to be thankful for::
We are thankful for the work of the skilled clinicians on the frontlines of global health in communities around the country, serving migrants, immigrants, and other underserved community members in their time of need.
We are thankful for the capacity of our employees, showing up to do the heartbreakingly brave work amidst the increasing challenges of the world at large.
And most of all, we are thankful for our audience--the everyday people like you determined to make the dream of health justice a reality, saving countless lives in the process.
From our humble beginnings in the conference space of a Corpus Christi hotel, we have grown into a major thought leader with more than 50 dedicated, passion-driven employees in nearly a dozen locations across the United States. While 2022 proved to be an incredibly difficult time for many, MCN has experienced a renewed sense of optimism about what can still be achieved. This is why our focus for this year’s Giving Tuesday is #ThankfulFor37—the 37 years of this changemaking work.
Though there are many accomplishments MCN is proud to claim, here is just one snapshot to illustrate the difference people like you have made: through Health Network, our comprehensive virtual case management and patient navigation system, more than 16,300 mobile patients have successfully been enrolled into care. This includes pregnant asylum seekers, medically fragile individuals in detention, and children with complex medical needs. In short, that’s at least 16,300 lives saved, and with your help, we know we can save even more in the next 37.
Will you help us celebrate our biggest Giving Tuesday year ever by giving your best gift now?
