John,
Every year, Giving Tuesday commences at the end of the month of November. Giving Tuesday is a global movement of generosity – where people from everywhere unleash the power of togetherness to transform communities and the world.
Black Lives Matter is proud to take part in Giving Tuesday by helping to raise funds for
Texas Jail Project – a grassroots organization that embodies our movement's beliefs and practices. The Texas Jail project plays a crucial role in the fight for Black liberation.
Learn more about the Texas Jail Project below, and don't forget to make a donation and help us reach our $20,000 fundraising goal before the end of next Tuesday! >>

More than one out of every three people behind bars in Texas is in a county jail.
Texas Jail Project works to liberate these communities by organizing with and advocating for people incarcerated in county jails and their loved ones. Texas Jail Project has built an intentional all-women-of-color team — most of whom are personally impacted by the criminal legal system — while successfully creating a barrierless mutual aid response program to support people in jails and their families. In the past two years, Texas Jail Project has successfully dispersed over $250,000 in unrestricted cash grants to over 650 families impacted by incarceration in Texas.
Texas Jail Project envisions a world where healthy communities make jails obsolete–where “hospitals, community centers, health clinics, and supportive housing spring up like wildflowers to replace them.” They see the end of mass incarceration catalyzed by an organized, loving resistance to pretrial detention.
If you see yourself in that future too, join us by supporting Texas Jail Project, an innovative organization doing so much for our communities every day. Their work speaks volumes about all the different ways we need to fight for Black lives.
Chip in now and help us reach our goal of raising $20,000 for the Texas Jail Project!
