How Has A Voice for Choice Advocacy Empowered You this Year?
Support AVFCA's 2023 Efforts with a Generous Donation TODAY!

[link removed] [[link removed]]

This is A Voice for Choice Advocacy’s 7 th Annual End of Year Fundraiser, and our most important fundraiser to date! In the next week, leading up to #GivingTuesday, A Voice for Choice Advocacy wants to join forces with YOU to raise $50,000 for our 2023 efforts! The sooner you are able to give, the quicker AVFCA can get on with our work and you can get on with yours!

As AVFCA looks back on the past year, we want to thank you for your support making it through the toughest legislative year in the history of the Health Rights/Medical Freedom movement in California. California came out ahead, with 6 of the 10 “Bad Bills” dying, 2 amended to rid them of offensive language, and 4 passed with amendments, watering them down significantly. 2022 was a year of Reactive Activism (fighting bad bills), but as AVFCA looks forward to 2023, there are many exciting projects on the horizon - A Voice for Choice Advocacy will be leading the way in generating Proactive Legislation (getting good bills authored), emboldening Grassroots Activism, creating Non-Toxic Schools, supporting Natural Childbirth Education, filing key Lawsuits and most importantly Empowering You!

A Voice for Choice Advocacy is one of only two 501(c)4 non-profits in California focused on Health Rights and Medical Freedom. Unlike 501(c)3 non-profits who have to limit lobbying to a maximum of 20% of their efforts, a 501(c)4 is allowed to spend 100% of their time on lobbying and advocacy. No other organization in California has the legislative expertise or experience to continue to lead this Health Rights and Medical Freedom movement at the Sacramento Capitol, with Reactive Activism (fighting bad bills) and Proactive Legislation (getting good bills authored). And no other organization has Empowered You with knowledge and actions to take issues into your own hands.

While there are many organizations asking for your donations for the work they have done and continue to do, A Voice for Choice Advocacy sees things a little differently. Similar to those other organizations, AVFCA could recite the many facets of work accomplished in the past year and say how wonderful our efforts have been, but when it comes down to it, the real question is…

How Has A Voice for Choice Advocacy Empowered You this Year?
And What Does that Value Mean to You?

Did you step up to take action against the “Bad Bills” in CA, because AVFCA was the first organization to alert you to them in October 2021?
Were you inspired to contact your local legislators due to AVFCA’s educational videos and emails?
Did you use AVFCA’s email platform to easily contact your legislators to help kill 6 of the 10 “Bad Bills”: SB920, AB1993, SB871, SB866, SB1464, AB2593?
Did you contact your legislators to support 5 “Good Bills” that were introduced: AB1809, AB2146, AB1817, SB994, AB2771, SB1149?
Did you send a postcard through AVFCA to Governor Newsom asking him to VETO the 4 remaining Bad Bills?
Have you taken action since the 4 bad bills got passed based on AVFCA’s “Empower Yourself” emails?
Did you get your questions answered by Christina during one of AVFCA’s Q&A sessions?
Did you give public comment at a County Board of Supervisor's meeting, School board meeting, or Legislative Hearing in response to one of AVFCA’s action alerts?
Did you write a Religious Exemption based on the Religious Exemption Workshops, offered by AVFCA?
Do you enjoy being informed by AVFCA’s weekly editorial articles and spread the word by sharing our original stories with friends and family?
Do you appreciate recieving the informative emails AVFCA sends to help you make rational sense of the crazy world we live in?
If A Voice for Choice Advocacy did any of these things, or Empowered You in any other way this year, please give a donation so AVFCA can continue our tireless work in 2023 (see below for more details on matching donations and challenges).

Your donations will primarily go to paying our amazing team - Legislative Director, Health Rights Director, Non-Toxic School Program Director, Social Media Director, Managing Editor and Fundraising Director - as well as our two lobbyists, who give us the inside scoop into what goes on behind the doors in the Capitol. For a non-profit this is a very lean and fiscally responsible team. AVFCA takes serious consideration about how your donations will be spent and stretches our every single one of them. While AVFCA pays our team fairly, I (Christina) do not take any payment from A Voice for Choice Advocacy and continue to donate all my time.

How to Make Your Donations Count for More...

This means that, if you or someone in your family works for one of these corporations, and donates to A Voice for Choice, we will get a matching donation from the corporation. We are on most corporate matching lists (and if not can easily be added). Please talk to your HR department to find out if they will match donations. If you make a donation to A Voice for Choice (or have done in the past year) and work for a corporation that matches funds, please be sure to let them know that you have donated and request the funds to be matched.
