Hello,
This week's edition looks at what you want if everything falls apart around you. Dr. John Delony and I discuss the destitution of loneliness, the salvation in connection. Also, from the archives, the dangers of overprotection.
** If Everything Falls Apart Around You…
------------------------------------------------------------
…there are a couple of things you are going to want:
You are going to want someone standing beside you that you can trust.
You are going to want your family around you, and you are going to want them to have your back.
You are going to want to know that you did not do some goddamn stupid thing to bring all hell down on yourself.
If you are lacking any of those when that crisis comes, there is a high probability it will flatten you and you will not be able to get up.
It is bad to be laid low. But to be laid low, and to know that you were at fault for it—the things that you did, that you knew you did that was wrong brought you here—I think you have nothing to stand on in that situation.
And that is also the circumstances under which I think you are more likely to be abandoned by the people around you.

Since joining forces with DailyWire+, I have produced a plethora of new, and exciting content – enabled by the additional resources made possible by our collaboration.
Let me tell you about two new series being released exclusively on the DailyWire+ platform this Friday, November 25th.
First: Logos and Literacy. I recently toured the new and remarkable Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC, where I walked through the history of the world's most significant book. I was joined by the museum's Associate Curator and Chief Curatorial Officer, as well as a philosopher, a rabbi, and a singer/songwriter – all of whom were deeply knowledgeable about the topics at hand.
We assessed and investigated the implicit structure through which we view the world, prioritize our perceptions, and determine how to act – all of which are reflected in the biblical meta-narrative. It was, to put it mildly, very illuminating. Do you want to know more about who you are, and why you believe what you believe (even if you don't know what you believe)? This documentary will help you bring clarity to much that is murky.
Second, The Exodus Seminar (part 1): About five years ago I delivered a multi-part live lecture series on the book of Genesis. To my surprise, the lectures not only sold out each night, but became the most popular of all of my videos on YouTube. If you have not yet seen the Genesis series, you might want to watch the rebooted version on DailyWire+. The Orthodox icon carver and profound religious scholar Jonathan Pageau was gracious enough to produce a brand new introduction to accompany this offering.
I have long and constantly dreamed of doing something similar with other Biblical stories – and so, I arranged with the DW crew to bring together an outstanding group of scholars to discuss the book of Exodus in depth. We will release the first two hours of this 16-part series this Friday. Those 16 episodes cover half the story; we'll tape the remainder of the series in January and release that next year.
It's a deadly seminar – the best, hands down, that I ever had the privilege to attend. I brought the smartest people I have met from all over the West to sit together, explore and debate. I learned things that will take me years to process. I think you'll have the same experience – so consider yourself warned :)
There are many more such projects coming down the pipeline: documentaries on this history of the Western world, filmed on location in Jerusalem (with Ben Shapiro and Jonathan Pageau – one documentary each), as well as Athens, Rome and Venice; another on the unique Maritime culture of Newfoundland, with the redoubtable and poetic Rex Murphy; specials in the format of the recent Gods, Men and Monsters and Marriage (on the necessity of vision; on dealing with depression and anxiety).
If you are interested in these projects (and if you've found my work helpful, you'll be interested) then consider a DailyWire+ subscription ([link removed]) . We're doing everything we can to justify the investment. Join us, as we mutually stumble uphill.

"Sometimes your gaze can be forcefully directed towards the abyss and then you are traumatized if it is involuntary and accidental it can kill you. The more it is voluntary the more transformative it is." (Share this on Twitter ([link removed]) ) ([link removed])

The Danger of Overprotection | Jordan B. Peterson
Dr. Peterson:
"You know for most of Freud's clients were people who were struggling to get out of the clutches of their family right and part of that is human beings are very dependent right well because we have this incredibly long period of development 30 years maybe but certainly 18 years and so it is hard to struggle up from infancy mature and leave as an independent creature."
