News and Updates WILL Defends Public School Counselor Fired for Speech that Denounced Gender Ideology at a Public Rally On behalf of Marissa Darlingh, a former school counselor at Allen-Field Elementary School in the Milwaukee Public School District (MPS), WILL filed a federal lawsuit against certain MPS employees for firing Ms. Darlingh for her First Amendment protected speech. In late September, MPS fired Ms. Darlingh because of remarks she gave at a feminist rally in Madison last April. The former counselor spoke at the event to express her view about the harms to children from certain aspects of “gender identity ideology.” 🗯 WILL Deputy Counsel, Luke Berg, said, “The District has blatantly violated Ms. Darlingh’s First Amendment rights. Read Here WILL Demands Wisconsin Elections Commission to Adhere to State Law On behalf of Robert Pellegrini, a registered Wisconsin voter and taxpayer, WILL filed a lawsuit against the Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) challenging WEC’s abdication of its duties to investigate and decide complaints against local election officials. Instead of the six WEC Commissioners deciding those complaints, they have delegated the responsibility to staff. 🗯 WILL Deputy Counsel, Lucas Vebber, said, “It’s absolutely absurd that the Wisconsin Elections Commission repeatedly refuses to take accountability.
