John, the votes are in.
Pamela Price WON and has been elected as the next District Attorney for Alameda County.
But that’s not all! She made HISTORY by becoming the first Black person ever elected for Alameda County DA. This is HUGE.
YOU made this incredible win possible, John!
Pamela was heavily outspent by her opponent but put the work to build a winning multi-racial coalition of labor groups, progressive organizations, Democratic clubs, elected officials, and other local leaders.
For too long, the Alameda County DA office has stood in the way of bold reforms passed by the California legislature. As a civil rights attorney who has always fought for justice, we know that Pamela will transform the office so that it centers accountability, transparency, and equity instead of racial injustice and mass incarceration.
Well-funded white conservatives keep trying to use recalls, impeachments, and suspensions to overturn the work of our DAs, including Chesa in neighboring San Francisco, but Pamela's victory is proof that they are no match for the power of the people and we must keep fighting back and continuing to build our movement for real justice.
Thank you to every single person who put in the work to make this huge victory possible — and we need your help to make sure we can build off of this momentum.
In solidarity,
Real Justice
