John,
Over the weekend, there was yet another horrific attack targeting the LGBTQ community, this time in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Yesterday, on Trans Day of Remembrance, 5 people lost their lives and many more were injured in a mass shooting at an LGBTQ club called Club Q.
I am sickened and heartbroken, John. Bigoted rhetoric has caused an epidemic of hate fueled attacks on the LGBTQ community like this across the country. This has to stop now, or more and more lives will be lost.
We need to reject the politics of hate that embolden these attacks so that all of us, including LGBTQ people, can feel safe in our communities. We don’t have to live with these horrors. We must and WILL take action to put an end to this nightmare. But today, let us grieve for those beautiful humans killed in yet another depraved massacre and support their families through this difficult time.
If you can, please donate to this fundraiser to help the families of those who were killed pay the costs of their funeral, medical, and other expenses. Every dollar helps. [[link removed]]
