** Let’s Be Tenacious in 2023
------------------------------------------------------------

============================================================

Dear FAIR Friends,

It’s easy to feel afraid during perilous times like these. We’re facing a worsening climate disaster, Russia’s war in Ukraine, our country’s reproductive rights and far-from-perfect democracy at risk from an increasingly radical right, further abuse of migrants at the US border…. The list goes on. But once again, our steadfast supporters have allowed FAIR to shine some light—and knowledge—during dark times.

In 2022, FAIR’s 36th year, our community helped us fearlessly challenge the status quo set by the powers that be. Now we’re asking for your continued support.

** Help us raise $70,000 by January 1. ([link removed])

FAIR’s year-end fundraiser is the biggest and most crucial of the four fundraising drives we have each year, and the one that makes or breaks our ability to continue doing the work you depend on in the year to come. Our fundraising money goes straight to our small, independent organization’s operating costs.

We’ve been challenging establishment narratives for decades because we believe making reliable information accessible to all is a powerful first step in fighting for a brighter and more just future. When you donate, you’re using your power to join us in this fight.

We believe it is imperative that these stories are told:
* ACTION ALERT: NYT Invents Left Extremists to Make ‘Moderation’ the Midterm Winner
* Climate Complicity and Confusion at the New York Times
* Musk’s Money Is Playing Old Games With New Media

We need you to help pay for the research and hard work that goes into each FAIR article. To get CounterSpin out to the many independent stations across North America that love the show, but can only afford to cover part of its cost. To make sure our activists can keep raising hell when Big Media distort the news.

** We need your support to continue our work in 2023. ([link removed])

In return for your support, we’re offering two thank-you gifts. Donate $50 or more and have your pick of either!

The first is FAIR’s special edition 35th anniversary T-shirt, featuring a monopoly-busting design by Kim Balthazar-Fetsko that appeared on the October 2011 issue of Extra!. Shirts are union-made in the US.

The other is a tote bag, US-made from eco-friendly material by a licensee/affiliate with the Fair Labor Association. On one side is FAIR’s logo. The other side reads, “Corporate news: Rich people paying rich people to tell middle-class people to blame poor people.” This durable and handy tote allows you to take FAIR’s anti-elitist message with you wherever you go.

An average of just over 2% of our email subscribers donate to our appeals—imagine what we could accomplish if we upped our engagement this year by just 1%!

** Donate what you can today! Let’s be tenacious in 2023! ([link removed])

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Every donation plays a role in ensuring the future of FAIR.

Thank you so much for being part of the FAIR family.

Sincerely,

Olivia Riggio, Janine Jackson, Julie Hollar & Jim Naureckas

P.S. Shirts are 100% cotton. Tote bag is made from poly cotton material and is 13″ wide x 14″ high x 3″ gusset with 25″ spun poly handles.

FAIR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your donation is tax-deductible.
