UPDATE: Republicans currently have 219 House seats--giving them a three-seat majority--yet, there are a few seats left, and we're in very good shape in most to all of them. In CA-22, the news is really good. Though Rudy Salas is currently slightly trailing his GOP opponent, The Washington Post election model predicts when all the votes are counted that Salsa will win! So let's secure this race for Rudy Salas by making sure EVERY VOTE IS COUNTED!!

To do this, can you give $5, $10, $25 to Rudy Salas so he can pay staffers and lawyers--the watchdogs--for this effort? Let's take another seat, keep the GOP majority so small they remain in chaos and have an even better Thanksgiving!

THANK YOU!
Cliff

John,

WE HAVE A FEW RACES LEFT THAT WE MUST DELIVER

Please join Blue Amp Action in giving $5, $10, $25 or whatever you can to (hopefully soon to be Rep.) Rudy Salas!

Republicans are now expected to have a 5-7 vote edge in the House. Two of those votes, lunatics Andy Biggs & Matt Gaetz, have promised to will NEVER vote for Kevin McCarthy as leader. 31 voted for Biggs over McCartthy in a leadership contest. And Republican House member, Rep. Don Bacon, who is one of the more normal Republicans, has already floated the idea of power-sharing with Democrats if McCarthy doesn't have the votes.

This all adds up to something simple: Every seat we win makes it more likely McCarthy won't be Speaker, the GOP won't be able to agree on any candidate and Democrats can join Bacon and perhaps a half dozen to a dozen sane Republicans to form a power sharing agreement, where progressive legislation we care about can get a vote.

One of the races still outstanding is California's 22nd Congressional District, a seat long held by Democrats, but taken over in 2020 by Republican David Valadao. Democrat Rudy Salas is currently within 4,000 votes with an entire 25% of the vote left to count. A political science professor in the area was quoted saying she expects the race to be decided by 100, maybe 1000 votes at most.

About BlueAmp Action:

We cannot sugarcoat the current situation. Right-wing authoritarianism, defeated by a worldwide coalition during WWII, was only in hibernation. Over the past decade it has infected democratic societies--including ours. It is as simple as it is terrifying: What we do now will define the future of our country and world.

We at Blue Amp Action are dedicated to liberal, open societies, where reason and science are applied to solve our problems; where civil rights--including voting rights!--are protected for all. We fight for these values every day. Speaking up on our platforms, raising the voices and the political prospects of liberal pols and pundits.

So we ask that you support our work, so we can continue to engage in this fight every moment of every day. So our kids grow up in democracy, not dystopia.

Thank you for your support for all we do! Please follow Cliff Schecter on Twitter @cliffschecter, or subscribe to The Takedown with Cliff Schecter on YouTube, to keep up to date with this battle for the heart and soul of our country.
