Hi there,

Many of us will soon be celebrating Thanksgiving and reflecting on what makes us feel thankful. We are thankful for democracy, the right to vote, and the optimism we felt this election cycle. Women will continue to run for office in record numbers – and, thanks to the Her Bold Move support network, we will continue to help them run viable, WINNING campaigns.

On November 8, we saw a number of important glass ceilings shatter. One example is our candidate Becca Balint who became the first woman ever elected to federal office in Vermont. Additionally, three states elected women to the position of Governor for the first time, including Massachusetts, Arkansas, and New York.

While there are still 17 states that have never elected a woman Governor, this was an exciting step forward!

Although there are far too many glass ceilings left to shatter, one thing is clear: America is interested in protecting and defending women’s rights. Americans showed up to vote in historic numbers because women and women’s rights were on the ballot.

When women get elected, they often become champions for key legislation that improves the lives, and protects the rights, of women across America. For example, congresswomen have been the ones to champion legislation pertaining to codifying Roe v. Wade, enshrining the ERA in the Constitution, and ensuring domestic abusers cannot purchase guns. This is what we can expect when we elect progressive women.

We are gearing up for continued success in 2023 and 2024. Help us endorse and support pro-choice, pro-WOMAN, female candidates in 2023 and beyond by pitching in $15 right now.

While we’ve been encouraged by recent elections and events, our rights are still on the line. We must keep fighting to ensure women are in the rooms where decisions are being made. We need your help to make that happen.
