Dear Barrier To Entry PAC Supporters,

As the two of us (Eden & Megan) dive into post-election debriefs, we both feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude that we get to support candidates who we believe in so wholeheartedly and stand behind so fervently. And through our reflection, we remain acutely aware that none of this would be possible without you. Yes, you who is skimming this email, we are looking at you, friends: Thank you.

You have supported us and sustained us through every battle we faced this election season. We are absolutely struck by how powerful this community has become in such a short amount of time. Our candidates, our allies, and our team (you) have made an enormous impact in our very first election cycle, which can be summed up in three words:

We stay winning.

Here’s why: We crushed every single race we played in regardless of the outcome because we broke barriers and helped low-income, working-class people run for office. We stayed focused on our progressive values. We mobilized like-minded people to build a people-powered movement from the ground up. We dolled out tens of thousands of grassroots dollars to our candidates so they could run strong campaigns — and we did it all because of YOU.

You’ve stood by us and lifted up our candidates, whether you live near or far from some of these races. And you’ve demonstrated that you believe in the fundamental idea that drives our work: If injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere, then justice anywhere is justice everywhere.
* It means that you don’t have to live in Ohio to fight for that 10 year old girl we sent to Indiana to get an abortion.
* It means that you don't have to live in South Dallas to want Jessica Mason to be the one leading the charge for a community that has long been forgotten.
* It means that you don’t have to live in Nevada to want to see the first openly transgender person elected as a statewide official there.

Justice is justice regardless of where it’s happening. And because you believe in that principle with us and are in this fight for justice alongside us, you have helped us secure these historic Primary and General Election wins:

Mayor Peter Schwartzmann — Galesburg, IL
- This was a major underdog upset, beating out an 8 year pro-Trump incumbent.

Mayor Ed Gainey — Pittsburgh, PA
- This was a major underdog upset.

Commissioner Shenise Turner-Sloss — Dayton, Ohio
- Shenise was the top vote-getter, beating out a slate of conservative Democrats.

District Leader Shaquana Boykin — Brooklyn, New York
- Shaquana held her seat in a competitive re-election.

Jamie McLeod-Skinner — Bend, Oregon
- Jamie beat entrenched incumbent member of Congress Kurt Schrader in what has been called the biggest Primary upset in Oregon since 1994 and the biggest upset in the house since 2016, a statistically more improbable win than AOC’s historic victory.

Judge-elect Angelina Jackson — Dayton, Ohio
- Angie clinched a county-wide landslide victory against a self-funding Republican opponent while other Democrats running parallel to her lost.

Ultimately, this is why we are winning, and why we will keep winning — because YOU stepped up as an ally to those doing the work on the ground. Together, we flipped seats in underdog races that no one believed in, spanning every time zone across the country.

In the coming days, we’ll share information with you about our candidates — and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead for those individuals as well as our organization going forward.

Thank you again. Seriously.
