2022 has been the year of revitalization. 2022 has seen historic youth turnout in the Midterms. Even after our losses in 2021, the Virginia Young Democrats took up the mantle and got the vote out helping return Representatives Abigail Spanberger and Jennifer Wexton to Congress, staving off the much anticipated “Red Wave” that the GOP had been promising. 2022 has been a year to revitalize, reimagine, and rebrand the Youth Wing of the Democratic Party. 

As we launch into the 2023 cycle, Virginia Young Democrats are taking the opportunity to rebrand and reinspire our members to go out there, expand our Senate Majority, and flip the House of Delegates to stop Governor Youngkin’s regressive agenda. We want to make sure that we are putting the most impactful image and brand out there for Young Democrats in our commonwealth. That is why we are pleased to reveal our new logo and new branding for VAYD:

The new branding includes the new logo with the recognizable acronym that we have been known by as well as an icon to make our brand more versatile and flexible. These give VAYD the more modern look we want for our organizations while incorporating a very recognizable symbol of our commonwealth: the cardinal. The colors we have incorporated are Blue, reflecting the color of our Party, and Red, reflecting the color of our state bird. The type face is big and bold which is the statement and image we want to make in our Party and our Elections, while still having a more minimalist, modern design for the Cardinal, which is facing Left signifying our political stance.

The Virginia Young Democrats are incredibly excited to roll this out so that Young Democrats in Virginia have the image that will make us stand out in our Commonwealth, and amongst our peers in the Young Democrats of America.
