Highlights from CCUSA

Grief and Grace in Uvalde: Accompanying a Community through Loss

After the Robb Elementary shooting, behavioral health staff from
Catholic Charities agencies nationwide embraced a small town in
south Texas affected by unfathomable tragedy. In the six months
since, they've been accompanying the community in its
"awesome depth of grief and loss," offering desperately
needed cross-cultural support in Spanish and English. Explore Grace

Daily Advent and Christmas reflections from CCUSA

Sunday, November 27, marks the beginning of Advent. Once again,
CCUSA will offer daily reflections through the Christmas season on
each day's Mass readings, authored by Catholic Charities leaders and
other social concerns ministers. The reflections arrive by email

New CCUSA Innovation Challenge Announced

Sister Donna Markham OP, PhD, president and CEO of Catholic
Charities USA, announced a new CCUSA Innovation Challenge during
CCUSA's recent Annual Gathering in Baltimore. With a total
award of $2.5 million to nine agencies, the latest Challenge seeks
to inspire member agencies within the Catholic Charities network to
propose a fresh workforce development-specific solution toward
alleviating or reducing poverty.

Proposals will be accepted in three categories based on agency size
and must recommend new and innovative approaches rather than expand
upon current programs. Applications are due Friday, February
10, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. ET.

CCUSA Immigration and Refugees Services Community of Practice
Monthly Meeting

Please join us for the CCUSA Immigration and Refugee Services
Community of Practice meetings. During these meetings, we will hear
from the field about pressing issues in the Immigration and Refugee
Services and receive a policy update from CCUSA, MRS/USCCB, and
CLINIC.

Workforce Development Boards (WDBs) are part of the Public Workforce
System, a network of federal, state, and local offices that support
economic expansion and develop the talent of the nation's
workforce. State and local WDBs, serve as connectors between the
U.S. Department of Labor and local American Job Centers that deliver
services to workers and employers.

Collaborating with local, regional, and national partners in
developing, designing, and delivering workforce solutions that
create opportunities through family support services, education,
training, job search assistance, placement and retention. Whether
you're an employer who has job openings, an organization that
provides wrap-around services, a corporate or foundation
representative, or an education/training partner looking to enhance
their career offerings.

CCUSA is taking applications for our Family Strengthening AmeriCorps
VISTA program! Join this webinar to learn more about AmeriCorps
VISTA and how this program could help expand your existing
programming through the power of national service. The Family
Strengthening program focuses on the foundational services that
Catholic Charities provides, allowing the projects to be broad-based
and supportive of a variety of program types and interventions.
VISTA members in this program support strengthening families through
indirect service and capacity building activities, such as
fundraising and resource development, communications and social
media, outreach, partnership building, volunteer management and much
more! 

In this webinar, we will review sub-grantee expectations, estimated
costs and allowable activities. Bring your creative ideas to the
session and consider if this program is right for your agency.
