This is alarming, friend.

Women who frequently use chemical hair straighteners may be twice as likely to develop uterine cancer, according to a new study.

EWG scientists have sounded the alarm about chemical straighteners for years, but the FDA has failed to act. Chemical hair straighteners are often made with formaldehyde, which is a known human carcinogen, linked to fertility harm, and it may increase your chances of miscarriage. EWG has petitioned the FDA for over a decade to ban formaldehyde from hair straighteners. FDA scientists agree the chemical should be banned, but the agency has done nothing to protect women and salon workers.

Enough is enough. EWG is fighting for women’s health and better beauty – will you join us? We need 4,320 of our top supporters to complete our quick survey by midnight tonight to help us formulate our plans.

Should the FDA ban cancer-causing formaldehyde from beauty products?
