In the wake of the midterm elections, Democrats lost the House, but they still retain the Senate and White House. This means that, although Democrats won’t be able to pass as much of their legislative agenda as they’d like, Joe Biden is more likely to run for a second presidential term in 2024. Additionally, despite possibly contentious fights to determine the new Democratic leadership in Congress, the party seems to be moving toward internal unity. There are also some opportunities for bipartisanship in the areas of China, big tech and criminal justice issues.
