Pro Life Advocates Sue FDA Over Abortion Pills Going Out to Shelves
Townhall: Pro life advocates sue the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) after it approved a dangerous abortion pill to be put on the market. According to a lawsuit, four national medical associations and four doctors are claiming that the FDA “illegally” approved a drug knowing it can harm women. The Alliance Defending Freedom, a conservative group filed a lawsuit in Texas arguing that the FDA did not have the authority to approve the harmful drug: mifepristone. The group alleges that the FDA had to deem pregnancy as an “illness” and the abortion pill as providing a “meaningful therapeutic benefit” in order to get them approved so quickly (Townhall). Alliance Defending Freedom: For decades, the FDA has not been fulfilling this mission when it comes to its decisions about chemical abortion drugs. In 2000, the FDA approved chemical abortion drugs by running roughshod over the law and science. Since then, the agency has not followed the science, reversed course, or fixed its mistakes. Instead, it has been dismantling the few safeguards that were in place when the drugs were originally approved (Alliance Defending Freedom).

UN Climate Deal Sets Up Fund to Pay for Climate-Related Damage for Developing Countries
Wall Street Journal: A deal was struck at United Nations climate talks on Saturday to set up a fund that would pay for climate-related damage in countries deemed particularly vulnerable, officials said, handing a victory to poorer nations that have pushed for the move for years and removing a major sticking point in broader negotiations to address global warming. The fund would earmark money for what is known as loss and damage: When rising seas, more powerful storms and other effects that scientists link to climate change cause destruction that is sudden or potentially irreparable (Wall Street Journal). Washington Examiner: The EU delegation reached a tentative agreement with some 134 developing countries on the proposal. One obstacle for the EU was the definition of a “developing” country.
