THE LATEST FROM KEEP BRITAIN TIDY Help us to get flaming litter out of the environment

Earlier this year, as Britain was gripped by heatwaves, we joined London Fire Brigade in calling for a ban on so-called 'disposable' barbecues.

These single-use items can reach 400°C and take around four hours to cool down. That makes them difficult to move and when left behind, they pose a risk of injury to people and animals and can cause grass fires.

Tomorrow morning (November 22), MPs will vote on Selaine Saxby MP's Ten-Minute Rule Bill to mitigate the damage caused by 'disposable' barbecues.

We're calling on our supporters to make their voices heard.

Please reach out to your MP, either through Twitter or by email, and ask them to support Selaine Saxby's Ten-Minute Rule Bill.

Together, we can help to get this flaming litter out of the environment, and prevent the scenes we saw this summer recurring.

Educating young people about climate change and sustainability has never been more important. Young people, parents, and even the government are looking to schools to tackle the key subjects, but there's a catch...

In a recent educator survey conducted by educational resource provider Twinkl, 92% of respondents said they felt that teaching on climate change and sustainability was very important. But almost 70% said that they didn't feel confident doing it.

In response, Eco-Schools have teamed up with Sarah Roberts - author of Somebody Swallowed Stanley, a children's picture book with an environmental message - to produce a new five-part video series, 'Climate Confident'.

The series covers everything that educators and schools need to know, from the basics of climate change to eco-anxiety.
