Great news, folks — The Biden administration committed to a global agreement to accelerate zero-emissions transport for commercial vehicles like buses and tractor trailers at the United Nations’ climate change conference, COP27, this past week. I was proud to work with a group of fellow lawmakers to call for this commitment — which will help protect our planet for future generations. We’ve made incredible steps as a country to reduce emissions, cut energy costs, and electrify our nation — from the COP27 agreement, to the investment in our first nationwide electric vehicle charging network in the bipartisan infrastructure law, to my provisions in the Inflation Reduction Act that will save New Mexicans who electrify their households an average of hundreds of dollars a year. But our work isn’t over yet. As co-chair of the bicameral Electrification Caucus, I won’t stop pushing to pass laws that help cut emissions and take on climate change.
Thank you for speaking up on this critical issue. — Martin
