John, it cannot be said enough times: THANK YOU.
It is because of this team that I am returning to Congress for a third term, and I am so excited to get to work.
Unfortunately, I will be headed back to Washington under a divided Congress. Democrats held on to the Senate, but the House majority is currently held by the GOP.
We will also see a historic change in our Democratic caucus – Speaker Nancy Pelosi is stepping down from her leadership post. It has been an incredible honor to serve with the first female Speaker of the House for these past four years, and I look forward to working with colleagues new and old to carry her legacy forward.
I feel like I’ve seen it all over the past four years – a global pandemic, government shutdowns, an insurrection in the U.S. Capitol – but this razor-thin margin in the House will present a whole new set of unprecedented governing challenges.
John, I am up for the challenge!! I am headed back to Washington to fight for YOU – and I am confident we can make progress for Connecticut families across the aisle.
Because despite all the challenges, we have already accomplished so much. You turned OUT and chose hope, optimism, and action over cynicism and fear. And as a result, we engaged so many new people, brought so many of our friends and neighbors into the political process, uplifted everyone’s voices – and defied expectations.
As I prepare to begin my third term, I want to hear directly from you about what is on your mind. What do you want this new Congress to prioritize? Let me know here:
THANK YOU THANK YOU!
