Asalaamu 'alaikum,
Dear affiliates
I pray you are all keeping well insha'Allah.
I congratulate you on this important milestone we have all achieved, celebrating our 25th anniversary of serving British Muslim communities.
🤗 From humble beginnings, the initial consultation work to form an organisation for the community culminated in the inauguration of the Muslim Council of Britain at Brent Town Hall in London on 23rd November 1997.
👏 Since then, Muslim communities have been through a lot. Despite all this, our communities have transformed, with Muslims widely represented across civil society, business, industry and sports.
What it means to be a British Muslim today is a narrative we are constantly shaping and defining. As we grow in our diversity, now is the moment we decide what future we wish to create for the next 25 years.
The MCB hopes to set this vision with you all through our work, engagement and collaboration with you.
Whilst our celebrations will begin in London, we plan to celebrate with you across the country in the new year.
Finally, I thank you all for being part of the MCB family and helping us to serve British Muslim communities.
