We hope you've noticed the growing momentum of our #ShahidVsPelosi campaign.

More than 3,700 people have joined the campaign with donations averaging about $20 - and what's really remarkable is that over 2,000 of those are from July alone! Across the nation, progressives are telling us that they are ready for real change in Congress. The media is taking notice, too, with new stories about Shahid locally and in the national progressive press.

I just turned 60 this year and for the first time since JFK do I see hope. Our government has failed us. It has become a place for self-serving people to make an easy buck (millions). There is a disconnect. I was once a Republican (years ago), now I am a Progressive. I support people like Bernie, Tulsi, Omar, AOC, and other Progressives. Pelosi must get out of the way! that is why i support Shahid!

We the people deserve to be heard and be given the opportunity to hold our representatives accountable. For a long time, I felt that I resigned myself to living in a country where our political system was corrupt and our citizens powerless. Bernie Sanders and his supporters gave me hope and motivated me, not just to be a better person, but to be a better member of my community. I could see that big changes can begin with people like me. I work as a paramedic, I’m finishing nursing school, I mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and I volunteer with recovering addicts.

Our team recently reviewed FEC reports and found that Nancy Pelosi's team is shifting millions from a "Victory Fund" with unlimited contributions to the Speaker's re-election campaign, which is spending hundreds of thousands on paid social media alone. That is not how we will compete. We plan to organize hundreds of thousands of forgotten San Franciscans - those who have given up on parties and even on voting. We are raising to win this election in the field, and each small donor will contribute directly to our victory.

More than 2,000 people who open our emails have not yet made a donation. If just those who open this email donate $3 today, we will reach our July goal of 4,000 unique donors. Pelosi may have taken $10,000 from Goldman Sachs' PAC already this cycle, but we're betting on strength in unity. Are you in?
