"The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble."
- Psalm 9:9
Africa & Europe
Thank God for successful Freedom Sunday activities in Uganda that brought new connections and reconnections with congregations across the country. Pray for great favor as we engage the churches to partner with us in the provision of shelters for survivors of violence against women and children.
Latin America
Praise God for IJM Bolivia’s opportunity to share its expertise in building multidisciplinary teams that support survivors of sexual violence. Since 2019, our team has been training professional lawyers, psychologists, social workers and students who want to give their time and talent as pro bono services. Since then, we have seen a deeper commitment to our casework and how helpful these resources are for families to feel safer. Pray that as we share our best practices with others, more people would be inspired to join our volunteer network and walk alongside other survivors.
South Asia
Please pray for IJM aftercare teams working with survivors of labor trafficking in "source" states. Traffickers frequently trick vulnerable families in these poorer states and exploit them in other places for years. Once they are rescued, IJM and our partners help families move home and rebuild a life in freedom. Pray that our aftercare teams can help them find sustainable, dignified work locally, so they won't have to migrate for work again. Pray especially for one of our smaller aftercare teams, who will have to travel a lot before year-end to assess groups of newly freed survivors.
Asia Pacific
Please pray for the upcoming elections in Malaysia happening this week. Pray that the officials who will be elected would strongly champion IJM’s advocacy and be supportive of the work we are trying to do!
IJM Global Office & Partners
IJM global office is located in the United States. IJM has Partner Offices in Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, South Korea, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
Please join us in prayer for a restful and rejuvenating Thanksgiving week for our staff in the United States. As our teams take time to unplug, pray that they would fully disconnect from to-do lists and action items, and that all will be able to enjoy time with family and friends!
The updates we share on survivors or their cases can become sensitive over time. To respect and protect
them,
please refrain from posting these prayer requests online.
