I am so humbled by the incredible support that I have received from this community for my campaign for Congress.
Today marks the suspension of my campaign for Congress, but it does not end my fight to make real change happen for this community.
When I announced, I saw an immediate outpouring of support from this community who are frustrated and upset by the lack of action from those in power, but are silenced by fear.
To those of you in my community who feel unheard and under-served, I hear you and will continue to proactively tackle our issues, together. We will not be silent and I ask all of you to participate, register to vote, volunteer, donate, and vote for the changes you believe in.
We have a lot of work ahead to do in our district. Families like mine, who are still struggling and haven’t seen things get any better. Women in this country need real action on issues of sexual harassment, full access to reproductive health care and pay equity.
Working families in this country need real action on a living wage, on housing solutions, on infrastructure investment and on climate change. Immigrants, refugees, and people of color need our president to be held accountable and end the resurgence of racism and inequality in this nation.
I’m calling on Congress to listen.
I may be suspending this campaign, but I will continue to be a vigilant voice for every member of my community. And I will continue to speak up and speak out where change is necessary.
This is not the end in my fight for a progressive future for all Americans.
