Dear Jack,

Mississippi has elected self-identified “conservatives” to state-wide offices for years. On behalf of our state’s overwhelmingly conservative voters, we have decided to publish next week a list of actions that any real conservatives ought to support.

These are just some of the highlights for our Conservative Platform for Mississippi:

  • CUT TAXES: With a massive state budget surplus, we support Governor Tate Reeves' recent call for further tax cuts. We will shortly publish a budget showing how both personal income tax and corporation tax can be cut responsibly.
  • RECALL: Local residents should be given the power to recall ineffective and incompetent mayors.
  • RIGHT OF INITIATIVE: It is time to fix the right of initiative so that the public are able to vote to change state law.
  • REINS ACT: Bureaucrats like to make decisions and spend taxpayers’ money without accountability. To combat this, conservatives in our state should support the “Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny” (REINS) bill.
  • ANTI-ESG: The ESG (Environmental Social and Governance) agenda promoted by big money managers is forcing publicly listed corporations to promote a “woke” agenda. An anti-ESG bill will help restore the voices of everyday citizens in the economy.
  • A WOMEN’S BILL OF RIGHTS: Our Women’s Bill of Rights would codify, for purposes of law and regulations, the common sense—and previously self- evident—definition of “woman.”
  • A PARENTS’ BILL OF RIGHTS: Young people have been subjected to irreversible gender reassignment procedures that they have subsequently come to regret. Our proposal would stop this in our state.
  • NURSE PRACTITIONERS: Antiquated laws still presume that nurse practitioners are unable to work unless under the supervision of doctors. We believe it is time to give highly trained nurse practitioners more responsibility.

Please look at our Platform, and tell me what you think? I would like your thoughts and views.

As the President & CEO of the Mississippi Center for Public Policy, I will be speaking to groups from Corinth to the Coast about our Platform. Let me know if you need a speaker and would like for me to visit.

We need to advance the conservative cause in our state, and our Platform will help us do exactly that.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Forward this email to a friend!
Warm regards,

Douglas Carswell

Ps.  Happy Thanksgiving!  This is only my second ever Thanksgiving in the United States, and I cannot tell you how thankful I am to live right here in Mississippi – the most wonderful state in the greatest Republic on earth!  Have a great time!
