John, this week marked five years since the Rancho Tehama shooting in Tehama, CA. The gunman used a homemade ‘ghost gun’ in his eight-hour shooting spree, firing at pedestrians, vehicles, and children in their school. In all, five people were killed and multiple others were injured, including children. 

Tragically, the community of Tehama, CA, is not alone. In recent years, ghost guns have proliferated across the country, becoming the weapon of choice for prohibited purchasers. You see, the Rancho Tehama gunman was barred from purchasing and possessing firearms. Yet he was able to obtain a ghost gun because, at the time, they were unregulated and required no Brady Background Check. 

But over the past year, we’ve taken decisive action to end the proliferation of ghost guns.  

Brady Legal is defending the victims and survivors of the Rancho Tehama shooting in our nation’s first civil lawsuit against the ghost gun industry. In California, Delaware, Illinois, and New York, we passed state laws to ban ghost guns, and we passed bans in four localities across California. And federally, we helped get the Biden-Harris administration’s rule to regulate ghost guns over the finish line.

We’re working tirelessly across Congress, the courts, and our communities to combat ghost guns and save lives — and we won’t give up. But we cannot do this vitally important work alone. Help Us Spread the Word: Applications Are OPEN for the Team ENOUGH Lobbying Collective

Team ENOUGH, our youth-led initiative, is accepting applications for their lobbying collectives in Florida and Virginia! The Team ENOUGH Lobbying Collective is the only national, youth-led group lobbying lawmakers for gun reform. 

Will you share our application with a young person you know in Virginia or Florida? Team ENOUGH is looking for young activists (ages 13-26) to join them in lobbying state legislators to pass life-saving solutions.

Applications close November 28 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

As a part of the Team ENOUGH Lobbying Collective, members will be equipped with hands-on training from policy and grassroots experts. Then, students will take that knowledge straight to the halls of power in meetings at state capitols. This is a perfect opportunity for youth to get involved with Team ENOUGH’s life-saving efforts following the 2022 midterm elections. Please help us spread the word today!

Nearly one week after an Ingraham High School student was shot and killed on the Seattle, WA, campus, hundreds of students joined in solidarity and walked out of class to demand action from their local elected officials. These students have had ENOUGH of senseless violence plaguing their communities and are advocating for common-sense solutions to end it, including legislation to bolster Seattle’s safe gun storage law and passing a ban on assault weapons.
