Listen folks -- in this email I’m going to get into the nitty-gritty of the values that guide my campaign. I hope you’ll give it a read and then chip in $5 to my campaign to help us defeat Donald Trump.

When I was just a young kid running a longshot campaign for Senate in Delaware, I borrowed an expression I picked up from my dad. I’d go door to door and say: “I’m not gonna tell you you have to vote for me. But I am going to ask you to look me over, and if you decide you like what you see, I hope you’ll decide to support me.”

I can’t boil down everything I stand for into one email, but here are a few things I hope you know about me:

• I believe deeply in America. We have led the world and we’ve done it by the power of our example. And I believe that our country and our people are better than Donald Trump.


• Every vile insult Trump utters - or tweets out - is based on a belief that he can get what he wants by turning Americans against one another. I know we are better than that.


• And I believe in public service. I know change is never easy, but that few things that are worthwhile ever are. But it is possible.

Give what I have to say a look over today. And if you believe in your heart that we’ve got to come together again as a nation and restore these values that Donald Trump has worked so hard to destroy, then please chip in $5 to my campaign:

And that’s also why I took on the NRA and beat them. Twice.

My belief in America is why I’m so optimistic about our future. Together, we can accomplish great things. But it all starts with getting rid of Donald Trump. I know I can beat him, not just because the polls say I will - although they do - but because I know America is better than him.

Look, I know that many of you have already decided to support me and my campaign for president. And to you, I want to simply say: thank you. I am humbled and honored to have your support.

But I also know that this is a crowded field, and there might be another qualified candidate in the race who you also like. And that’s ok, too. We’re all on the same team.
