Hello, Friends —
My week in Congress was less focused on legislation and much more focused on the alignment of Members’ Committees, House Leadership, and the upcoming changes in House Rules for next year. Most importantly, amending the House Rules provides an opportunity for this Chamber to balance the power between all Members of the House and the power-abusing House Leadership.
It is crucial for House Members to represent our constituents properly and have a fair shake in the way we legislate rather than serve as Members of a directionless herd governed by Kevin McCarthy. I am working to spread awareness around the House, advocating for Rules that will instill integrity in Congress and require that we serve the American People instead of personal prerogatives. While Congress continues to organize for the new year, this week also included developments from Joe Biden's reckless spending agenda and, on a better note, my analysis of regulating the Chinese app, TikTok.
WHITE HOUSE REQUESTS $37.7 BILLION FOR UKRAINE, $10 BILLION FOR COVID
In the words of Democrats who don't seem to understand the consequences of printing money on demand, "Never let a good crisis go to waste." This is exactly what is happening with Tuesday's White House announcement, which demands more of your money to fill the coffers of Big Pharma and the Ukrainian government.
If Joe Biden truly wanted to combat a crisis, he would be focused on reducing federal spending to combat the evaporating value of the US Dollar. For these reasons, I am a proud cosponsor of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's Resolution of Inquiry to audit every American taxpayer dollar sent to Ukraine. The American People deserve answers on what $91.3 billion to Ukraine is actually accomplishing. Our role in Congress, provided by the Constitution, is to legislate on behalf of the American people, not Volodymyr Zelenskyy. I look forward to answers to where our money is being spent overseas.

FIREBRAND EPISODE 76: BAN TikTok (FEAT. GAVIN WAX)
Yesterday on Firebrand, I was joined by Gavin Max, the Global Digital Marketing Director for GETTR, to discuss the Chinese Communist underpinnings of the app TikTok. Specifically, we discussed how politicians and alt-tech platforms should combat TikTok's corrupting influence on the minds of America’s youth. I also react to the knee-jerk warmongering from U.S. officials after this week’s missile incident in Poland.
TikTok is completely beholden to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and poses as a major national security threat. This social media platform gathers enormous amounts of user data, which is utilized by the CCP for dangerous intelligence gathering. When the CCP is directly connected to this, we know that the objective is not helpful to Americans. The CCP did not set up TikTok to make money. They want to control what Americans see and how you think so they can impact how we behave. We need to ban TikTok in order put an end to the CCP gathering information on Americans.

Are there any policies, issues congressional Republicans and Democrats could work together on?
"Calls to ban members from trading stock came from both the left and right, as polls showed the issue was overwhelmingly popular with most voters. Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz and Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez both co-sponsored the Ban Conflict Trading Act last year, introduced by Illinois Democratic Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi. The bill would prohibit members of Congress, as well as senior office staff, from trading stocks."

House GOP Choose Kevin McCarthy As Speaker, Some Republicans Push Back
"Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is openly calling out McCarthy, saying that he cannot be trusted in the key leadership position. In a tweet, the Florida Republican listed several concerning issues with McCarthy’s previous actions that he believes make him unfit to lead the GOP in the House. Gaetz cited McCarthy’s defense of disgraced Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), who recently lost her primary to America-First candidate Harriet Hageman by roughly 37 points, and the fact that McCarthy “told GOP leadership Trump should resign” after the January 6 Capitol riot. “Kevin is FLIGHT over FIGHT when the chips are down[.] He is not a Speaker for these times,” Gaetz added."

Talk of an EU-style Governance of the Americas Raises Red Flags with Congressman
"Concerned that Blinken appears to be having such discussions abroad, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) sent a letter to the secretary to find out more. “Is it your position that the North American continent should be united by a regional constitution to further the economic interests of its member states?” Gaetz asked Blinken. “Is the position of the Department of State that the United States, Canada, and Mexico should become a union of states formed in the likeness of the European Union?” A spokesman from Gaetz’s office said on Oct. 18 that the congressman hadn’t yet received a response from Blinken. “Our office is actively monitoring the Biden administration’s plans and will continue to communicate our concerns with the State Department,” the spokesman told The Epoch Times. Gaetz wrote on Twitter on Oct. 14: “I don’t want my constituents living under socialist tyrannical lockdowns enacted by Justin Trudeau while their nephews get poisoned by Mexican fentanyl. “But that is the globalist order the Left supports, because they never thought much of America in the first place.”"
