After my brother and I were diagnosed with Type I diabetes as children, I became a national diabetes advocate. My message has been simple: it’s time to find a cure for diabetes, and ensure support and affordable care for the 30 million Americans living with the disease.
For the past 17 years, I’ve gone to DC to talk to members of Congress about what can be done on a federal level for Americans living with diabetes. I don’t care what political party they are in—I’ll talk to anyone about what it’s like living with this chronic illness. This year, I sat down with our representative to tell my story and what he can do in Congress to help. But when I tried to follow up, his office stopped returning my emails.

Folks in Minnesota deserve representation that will listen to them and take action. That’s why I’m running for Congress.
