Dear neighbor,

Serving you in the United States House of Representatives is the honor of my lifetime. I am deeply grateful to the residents of Los Angeles County who have continued to trust me as their representative. It is a privilege to represent our wonderful community and I look forward to carrying that honor forward in the 118th Congress.

As you may know, the boundaries for congressional districts were redrawn following the 2020 Census, changing the geographical makeup of my district for the 118th Congress beginning in January.

As we prepare for the new session of Congress to begin, House Democrats remain committed to delivering results For the People. We are laser-focused on putting People Over Politics by prioritizing lower costs, better paying jobs, and safer communities.

In addition, we are keeping a close eye on the events unfolding around the world, including the war in Ukraine and the ongoing protests in Iran. I joined my colleagues on the House Foreign Affairs Committee this week in recognizing two months since protests began following the tragic death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini. Over the last two months, the Iranian regime has violently cracked down on its citizens, killing hundreds, injuring many more, and issuing death sentences to protesters. We unequivocally stand with the Iranian citizens risking their lives to peacefully protest for human rights. The brutality of the Iranian regime is unacceptable and must not be ignored.

As Members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, we are committed to working with the Biden Administration to continue to hold Iran accountable. Our country and decent countries around the world need to exert maximum pressure on the Iranian regime for these horrific human rights violations.

Here are a few more updates from this week:
