Dear JOHN xxxxxx,

Earlier this week, I had surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff. As I recuperate, I’ve been participating in legislative activity remotely and will continue to do so until cleared for travel by my physician. I want to thank everyone for their kind words and prayers—I look forward to a speedy recovery and will return to a full schedule as soon as possible.

As we look ahead to next week, I want to extend my best wishes to you and your family for a happy, safe, and peaceful Thanksgiving holiday. Let us give thanks for the blessings that surround us and take time to reflect on the shared gratitude that unites us all. May we embrace the spirit of giving as we work to uplift one another, help our neighbors in need, and grow stronger as one community.
