Transgender people were twice as likely as cisgender people to experience anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic
A new analysis of the U.S. Census Bureau’s Household Pulse Survey found that transgender people were more likely than cisgender people to face economic insecurity and unemployment and to lack health insurance during the pandemic. They were also three times more likely than cisgender people to have symptoms of severe psychological distress and more than twice as likely to have anxiety and depression.

Floyd Mills is the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at CoStar Group. With more than 20 years of experience as a diversity practitioner, he has designed and developed programs across a variety of industries in both the private and social sectors. A native Washingtonian, Floyd lives in the Capitol Hill area and serves as the Vice President of the Capitol Hill
Community Foundation. Floyd has been involved with the Williams Institute for over 12 years, mainly through his work with the DC Leadership Council. Last spring, he and his wife served as co-chairs of the Williams Institute’s DC Spring Reception, making it our most successful DC event ever.
