Good afternoon and happy Friday!
This week was very busy for our team - with a landmark cannabis hearing.
Monday night we kicked off the week with a series of suspension votes. Don’t know what a suspension vote is? Look here!
Tuesday was a historic day - where Republicans and Democrats came together to have a bipartisan discussion on cannabis reform. I was able to share my journey with cannabis, talk about the States Reform Act, as well as ask questions to a variety of knowledgeable witnesses. This is a big step for cannabis reform, but we still have much more work to do.
Wednesday we joined Oversight for a press conference on the investigation into Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings and his father’s potential involvement.
After the press conference and another series of votes, we joined Fox News to discuss what the new Congress will look like and what our priorities will be. Look below for “in the news” to watch!
Thursday we joined the Women Veteran's Roundtable discussion was a chance for women veterans and representatives from VSOs to discuss the implementation of the Deborah Sampson Act with the VA and also to cover issues such as childcare, sexual assault, and intimate partner violence.
On Friday new polling came in by the Coalition for Cannabis Policy, Education, and Regulation (CPEAR) showing an overwhelming 59% of Republican voters in South Carolina support federal cannabis reform.
