John,

We know that thanks to All On The Line's grassroots effort for fair maps, voters in Colorado's new 8th congressional district were able to elect the first Latina representative to from Colorado to Congress in 2022.

Last fall, Colorado's Supreme Court accepted the congressional plan proposed by the state's Independent Congressional Redistricting Commission. It was a significant victory for our movement and Coloradans. This fall, voters in Colorado cast their ballots on a fair congressional map.

Help All On The Line continue the grassroots movement for fair maps. Chip in a few bucks today to power our movement that protects fair maps like in Colorado. [[link removed]]

There is a direct line between fair maps and representation that reflects our communities. When voters in Colorado approved initiatives that established independent redistricting commissions, they established provisions for significant public engagement as part of the redistricting process.

Our organizing efforts in the 2020 redistricting cycle resulted in a Colorado congressional map that ensures the growing Latino community can elect a candidate of their choice -- by keeping communities together, the new 8th congressional district has the highest percentage of Latinos of any congressional district in the state. So when we saw that CO-08 was sending the first Latina to represent Colorado to Congress, it felt like we were watching the direct impact of our grassroots advocacy work.

From the beginning, A.G.Holder has expressed his support of why fair maps are essential for voting accessibility and protecting the rights of diverse communities: "I have long said that well-designed and well-run independent commissions are the gold standard in the redistricting process... Fair redistricting relies heavily on the individual voices that make up our communities."

Fair redistricting processes, such as Colorado's independent commission, are necessary for growth and diversity.

John -- we hope that Colorado's victory serves as an example for the rest of the nation in terms of how fairness and transparency in the redistricting process result in maps that genuinely represent the will of the people.

Pitch in today to continue to protect fair maps in states such as Colorado so voters will continue to be fairly represented for generations to come. [[link removed]]
