Dear John,
This week, we celebrated the one-year anniversary of the signing of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law! Since being signed, this effort has already delivered over $2 billion in critical infrastructure funding to Minnesota – with much more to come. This bill will help ensure that our roads and bridges are safe for the thousands of Minnesotans who use them daily – which is critically important as we head into another Minnesota winter.
But this law will improve more than just our roads and bridges! I fought to make sure this bill provides critical funding to expand broadband access – and now over 150,000 Minnesotan families have enrolled in the Affordable Connectivity Program, giving them the broadband access needed to stay connected with their loved ones, health care and businesses. It's amazing to start to see some of the promises of this legislation coming to fruition to improve our communities – and I’ll keep fighting hard to make sure our communities get their fair share of funded projects.
Here are some other highlights from this week:
Connecting with MN Law Enforcement
It was great to meet with police officers from our district and across Minnesota in Washington this week. I’m proud to be your federal partner in support of your work in the Second District.
Focusing on Rural Health
This Thursday was National Rural Health Day!
It’s been an honor to partner with my Rural Health Advisory Council to advocate for our rural communities in Congress and work to ensure everyone, no matter their zip code or income level, has access to high-quality, affordable health care.
Supporting Trade Education Trade schools and apprenticeship programs are vital to ensuring students can access good-paying jobs without taking on debt. Our own son, Josh, chose trade school and is now a machinist. That’s just part of why I am thrilled to acknowledge this week as National Apprenticeship Week!
Behind the scenes with Rep. Craig:
It was great to be back in DC this week and catch up with my Minnesota colleague, Congressman Dean Phillips. We’re both pleased to be back working hard for Minnesota.
I hope you all have a good start to this chilly weekend! See you next week!
Until next time,
Angie Craig
Member of Congress
