The 2022 Ohio Senate race just wrapped up, but Sherrod already has a potential opponent preparing to run against him.
Matt Dolan, a wealthy state senator who ran in the 2022 primary and lost, wants to ensure “Sherrod Brown [is] sent packing.”
Sherrod is one of only three Democratic senators representing states Trump won in 2020, and as such, he’s going to be the top target of Mitch McConnell and Republican Super PACs. According to NBC, 2024 is expected to be “even nastier and more expensive” than this year’s race in Ohio. (This year’s race attracted over $70 million in ad spending!)
