Burdick for Congress proudly has taken the most principled campaign fundraising pledge in the nation. No PAC money. No corporate money. No money from any individual living outside the 7th Congressional District. But this doesn’t mean we don’t need the financial help of voters in the district to beat the millions in donations our opponent has raised from outside the district.

Local Impeachment Coverage
The Elk Grove Citizen recently did a nice roundup of impeachment thoughts from each of the CA-7 candidates, including Jeff’s thoughts. Jeff has been consistent since the April release of the Mueller Report that Congress must decide impeachment not based on any political calculations but on the bedrock, non-partisan principles of protecting our democracy.
Space did not allow the Elk Grove Citizen to note how Ami Bera has flip-flopped on impeachment. At most town hall meetings last year, Bera said the Democrats shouldn’t impeach if it could hurt them at the ballot box. He also said he saw no point impeaching if Senate Republicans wouldn’t go along – effectively giving the GOP a veto over our principles.
Fortunately, Bera is ranked as one of the least influential members of Congress (watch video), and 99% of Democrats disregarded his approach – as Bera did too in the end. Time for CA-7 to change its mind and elect a candidate with rock-solid principles that don’t change with the wind. |
