During the Environmental Justice webinar, ACTION of Ohio leader, Fr. J.P. Robles introduced us to the concept of Environmental Apartheid. That webinar is a step in the Gamaliel Network’s process of adopting “Environment Justice” as a “National Strategic Priority Area,” and we need you to tell our Council of Presidents whether this is the right path at the right time. Your voice is important.
When an affiliate or number of affiliates believes that a particular issue area is worthy of our national attention, they ask the Council
of Presidents to:
- Disseminate information on the issue (review attached November 14 Environmental Justice Webinar);
- Survey the network for interest (that’s you); and
- Take a formal vote on the proposed issue area.
The vote mentioned in #3 above will take place on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at the Council of Presidents meeting at our 4th
Biennial Race and Power in America Summit. Here is what we are asking you to do.
The results of this survey will be shared with the Gamaliel Council of Presidents before the formal vote on December 1.
When we, the people of the Gamaliel Network, adopt a “National Strategic Priority Area,” we want it to have a “transformational” impact on society. Therefore, we need to know from as many Gamaliel leaders as possible, in your view and in your gut—will working in this area move us toward the world we dreamed of in our Transformative Narrative?
