Jeff Saturday, New Head Coach of Indianapolis Colts, Finds Purpose and Destiny in Christ

By: Bruce Hausknecht

Jeff Saturday, former All-Pro center for the Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers and member of the 2007 Colts Super Bowl championship team, was more than a little surprised recently to be offered the job of interim head coach of his former team by Colts owner Jim Irsay. Irsay approached him in mid-season when head coach Frank Reich was fired after the team’s less-than-stellar 3-5-1 start.

“Shocked would be an understatement,” the 47-year-old Saturday told reporters at the press conference where he was introduced.

Saturday, who gave his life to Christ as a player after a Colts teammate challenged him to attend a team Bible study, made the decision to accept the Colts’ offer the same day Irsay offered him the job. But not until after praying with this wife, Karen.

NEA Subverts Parents, Says Teachers Know ‘Better Than Anyone’ What Students Need

By: Zachary Mettler

The National Education Association (NEA) recently dissed parents and claimed that teachers are the ones who know “better than anyone” what students need.

The NEA tweeted on November 12, “Educators love their students and know better than anyone what they need to learn and to thrive.”

Better than anyone? Really? Better than parents even?

Former U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos tweeted a reply to the NEA, writing, “You misspelled parents.”

Apparently that sarcastic, though fair, reply, was too much for the NEA to handle.

The NEA then tweeted a reply to Secretary DeVos. “Together, families and educators are an essential team for advocating for the resources and opportunities all students need. Out-of-touch billionaires, however, are not,” the NEA wrote.

In reality, it’s the NEA who is out of touch with what parents expect from their teachers and the educational establishment.

The NEA is the largest labor union in the United States, representing over 3 million people – it’s also an extremely leftist organization headed by a leftist activist, Becky Pringle, who the NEA calls a “fierce social justice warrior” and a “staunch advocate for students who … identify as LGBTQ+.”

Breaking: Senate Ends Debate on ‘Respect for Marriage Act’ – Moving Measure to a Final Vote

By: Jeff Johnston

The U.S. Senate voted today to end debate on H.R. 8404, the so-called “Respect for Marriage Act.” The cloture motion, which needed the support of 60 senators, passed by a vote of 62 to 37.

The Senate leadership will now decide when the act will come up for a final vote. After reaching the threshold of 60 votes to end debate, the bill seems certain to pass. It only needs a majority of 51 to do so.

Focus on the Family President Jim Daly strongly condemned the bill, saying:

“Instead of respecting marriage, H.R. 8404 further unravels the historic, cross-cultural and biblical definition of marriage as the life-long, covenantal relationship between a husband and wife. This measure goes far beyond the Supreme Court’s Obergefell decision, as it enshrines ‘same-sex marriage’ into federal law.”

Daly called the vote “a disappointing loss for religious freedom,” saying:

“The act threatens Christian business owners and religious nonprofits that believe what the Bible teaches: Marriage is the union of one man and one woman.”

The Senate moved forward an amended version of the bill, with supposed protections for religious freedom. But Daly said those protections weren’t enough, explaining that the measure only protects religious organizations or people who perform marriages.

Is the 8 Billionth Child Being Born Worth Celebrating or Fearing?

By: The Daily Citizen Staff

Demographers tell us the eight billionth brand new human being will be born in the middle of this month. November 15 to be exact. No one knows for sure where this new little boy or girl will be born, nor to what mother and father. But the experts who count such things tell us it will happen, and it is certainly something to celebrate. A precious gift from God. But of course, not everyone feels that way.

Far too many people feel that having more babies is one of the most irresponsible, harmful things people can do. Environmental cataclysm and all that. There is even an active organization named “Stop Having Kids” because they feel that is the best thing anyone can do for our collective future. Certainly, these folks are smart enough to know there is no future without kids.

All Christians must ask whether God’s first command to “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth” is indeed wise and still in effect? Is the eight billionth human being born actually good news that each of us should celebrate?

It is extremely important that Christians and all those interested in what science actually says about the benefit of human reproduction know how to answer these questions. You will certainly be surprised by the answer.

No, the World is Not Overpopulated. Not. Even. Close! Eight billion certainly seems like a great many people, until you consider how big the earth actually is. Then it doesn’t seem like that many at all.

Almost Aborted, NBA Star Steph Curry: “Being a father gives you something more to play for.”

By: Paul Batura

Sonya Curry, mom of NBA star point guard Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors, is back in the news this week after interviewing with the “Your Mom” podcast with Ashley Adamson and Lisa McCaffrey, mother of the NFL’s Christian McCaffrey.

Earlier this year, Ms. Curry revealed in her memoir, “Fierce Love,” that she had considered aborting the future NBA standout, even going so far as to drive to a Planned Parenthood clinic. She is now a devout Christian who speaks openly about her faith.

In the course of the conversation, Sonya Curry shared the sober news that she aborted another child prior to almost aborting Stephan.

“So many people are struggling with [having an abortion],” she said. “It’s OK that you are struggling with it.”

One of the most pervasive lies of the left is that few women who abort have regrets. It defies common sense. Abortion activists often cite the “Turnaway Study,” which worked with 30 abortion facilities and 1,000 women who either had an abortion or were “turned away” due to the gestational limits on their pregnancy. The final report suggested 95% of those studied were glad they aborted their baby.

First, abortion facilities cannot be trusted with anything, let alone honestly discussing regrets with women who have had abortions. But Michael J. New, a researcher and scholar at the Charlotte Lozier Institute, has told The Christian Post significant problems exist with the report.
