john,

This summer, when the Supreme Court’s conservative majority struck down Roe v. Wade , all eyes were on the future of abortion access in our nation, rightfully so.

However, Justice Clarence Thomas also signaled that abortion access wasn’t the only target of the far-right Supreme Court justices. He also named marriage equality and LGBTQ+ rights as issues that could be up for debate.

Not only is it absurd to think our right to love who we love could be called into question in 2022 — it’s also a reality check. Despite the overwhelming majority of Americans who support marriage equality, it’s clear that Supreme Court decisions are little more than the will of 6 Republican activists in black robes.

That’s why yesterday, we voted to pass the Respect for Marriage Act in the Senate – overcoming a filibuster and passing bipartisan legislation to protect LGBTQ+ marriage equality.

Now, the bill is headed to the House for a final vote where it will be sent to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law.

Everyone should have the freedom to marry the person they love. Passing this legislation can’t wait, john. Sign on today to join me in support of sending this bill to President Biden’s desk. [[link removed]]
