A52 Nottingham junctions (National Highways) End date: 2023/24
National Highways have identified junctions for improvement, see here.

Since Silverdale junction opened Sept 2022 National Highways identified an issue with trafic signals. The issue will be resolved overnight on Monday 17 October 2022, see here.

This year’s theme focuses on ‘Safe Roads for All’ – highlighting everyone’s right to make safe journeys on the road. It is important to remind ourselves about the Highway Code changes and look out for one another on the road.

Every 22 minutes someone in the UK is killed or seriously injured in a road crash. Let's work together to keep everyone safe on the roads.

Colwick Country Park Access Improvements

The scheme includes a new multiuser path adjacent to Racecourse Road and widening/resurfacing of the existing paths around the southern and eastern edge of the West Lake. Read more here

The park will remain open during construction and the works will be delivered in phases. Work commenced Tuesday 20 September and is expected to last 18 weeks.

Linkbus service changes

Following a consultation earlier in the year, the Council has made the difficult decision to reduce the frequency of some of the Linkbus network as a result of necessary budget savings worsened by recent inflationary pressures.

To limit the impact on passengers no service has been completely withdrawn, but some of the services will now operate on fewer days. For more information on the changes, please visit: www.transportnottingham.com/linkbus

Bus services🚌

Trentbarton resumed operation bus services from Broad Marsh Bus Station from Monday 3 October! Read more about the services operating from Broad Marsh on their website, here.

🚨STRIKE ACTION🚨

The ASLEF Union have called a strike on Saturday 26 November. Disruption will be widespread with no services running for East Midlands Railway, Northern or Cross Country. The advice to passengers is not to travel. Disruption expected on Sunday 27 November, please check with your operator for the latest information and how it will affect your journey: 

Disruption/Engineering works🚧

East Midlands Railway: There are a number of minor service disruptions & changed train times across the EMR network over the next few weeks due to engineering works. The disruption will mostly affect early or late trains. 

Please check your journey EMR's website for the latest information. 

Northern: Works taking place affecting Castleford taking place on Sundays until 18 December. 

Leeds - Nottingham Service will have rail replacement buses on Nottingham - Sheffield leg on:

  • Sunday 20, 27 November

Sunday 27 November:
Leeds – Nottingham: Trains will be diverted to call additionally at Wakefield Westgate, and will terminate at Sheffield.
Nottingham – Leeds: Trains will start from Sheffield, and will be diverted to call additionally at Wakefield Westgate.
Leeds – Sheffield via Barnsley (local stopping services): Trains will start from Castleford.
Sheffield – Leeds via Barnsley (local stopping services): Trains will terminate at Castleford.
Buses will be provided between Leeds and Castleford (and vv), and between Sheffield and Nottingham (and vv).
