Dear John,
Child care is in crisis. Families and child care workers are feeling the burden every day. Parents struggle to find the affordable and reliable care they need. Child care workers continue to be undervalued and underpaid, struggling to make ends meet for their own families. But this doesn’t have to be our reality. To build a stronger child care system, we need Congress to take decisive action and significantly increase child care funding. Decisions about funding are happening right now.
That is why we need you to show up for families, children, and child care providers today. [[link removed]]
Tell Congress to Invest in Child Care [[link removed]]
We need to go big and act now.
TAKE ACTION [[link removed]]
The last two years have shown the critical role of child care. It is the backbone of our economy, but we know that child care is not meeting families’ needs. Nationally, the average cost of child care in 2021 was $10,600. Child care workers are not paid family-sustaining wages. As a result, over 88,000 workers have left the sector since February 2020.
We must do better. The first step is making bold investments in child care.
Congress needs to hear loud and clear that child care is essential! Tell Congress to support children, families, and providers and invest in child care now! [[link removed]]
Sincerely,
