[1]NNU - Medicare for All!
Now that the dust has settled on the election, we wanted to send you an
update on the Patients Over Profits pledge campaign this fall and
celebrate the amazing work and all the volunteers who made it possible.
As you may remember, ahead of the midterms, we set a goal of getting at
least 100 state and local candidates and elected officials to pledge to
reject campaign donations from the corporate health care industry.
We didn’t quite hit our goal, but we’ve reached a total of 70 signers on
the pledge, which is huge! That’s 70 candidates and elected officials from
this election cycle alone that pledged to refuse contributions from the
corporate health care industry.
We had over 1,100 people sign up to volunteer on this campaign over the
last several months — and we want to send them a HUGE thank you!
In particular, we want to lift up and congratulate a few key volunteer
leaders that made the biggest contribution to this campaign:
* Ken in Arizona, who attended a candidate forum in his area and got 9
candidates to take the pledge in a single day!
* Greg in California, who also attended a candidate event and got a
number of candidates to take the pledge.
* David in Washington, who got a number of elected officials and
candidates in his area to take the pledge using email and Facebook
Messenger.
* Elisabeth in California, who creatively asked candidates during a Zoom
event to take the pledge and got a number of them to sign.
* Kimmy in Texas, who reached out to dozens of candidates and elected
officials on social media.

card today? You can leave a short message as well if you like!
We know that we’re only just at the beginning of what’s possible for this
campaign. Stay tuned for more from us soon on how you can help grow the
Patients Over Profits campaign in 2023!
With gratitude,
