This House seat was critical for Democrats to defend to prevent an overwhelming Republican majority. And I have to say, I couldn’t have done this without your support.

You’ve heard me say it time and time again: this race was going to be one of the most competitive in the entire country. And now, with more than 95% of the vote reporting, we’ll end up winning this race by just around 4 points.

Even though Republicans spent over $14 million to unseat me, you stepped up and stopped their money machine in its tracks. I knew we had it in us to win and you all proved me right.

But folks, as it was just announced that the GOP will achieve a thin majority in the House, it’s clear our work has only just begun. We need to fight with everything we’ve got to protect Medicare, Social Security, and our most fundamental rights.
