I wanted to reach out after last night's news.
John,
Here's the situation: Last night, Republicans gained the seats necessary to take control of the House of Representatives. Thanks to leaders like Cori, grassroots volunteers, and young voters across the country, we held off the forecasted "red wave" and kept this a tight battle for control.
Here's what this means: With a GOP majority in the House, Republicans now have the power to control what bills get committee hearings and votes on the House floor. Without leaders like Cori stepping up, this could be the end of President Joe Biden's Congressional agenda.
Here's the plan: Cori is going to take our fight for the bold, progressive change people need directly to Republicans. On November 8th, the people of St. Louis voted for racial, economic, and environmental justice, and Cori is going to work every day to deliver.
John, to continue our work for the People's Response Act, Green New Deal for Cities Act, and Keeping Renters Safe Act, we need your support. Please, will you chip in $5 or more now to fund Cori's work ahead?
Chip in $5
On January 3, 2023, Cori will be sworn in for her second term in Congress, but our work to prepare for the next session begins now. We need to increase our grassroots fundraising efforts so that Cori can focus on going up against Republicans — not finances.
This isn't going to be easy — and there are no guarantees. But too much is at stake to give in to complacency, and we need this people-powered movement's help to ensure Cori can hit the ground running once the new Congress begins in January.
We need to stay on pace with our November fundraising projections, so we have to ask: Will you donate any amount right now to help power Cori's legislating and organizing in Congress as we go up against a GOP-controlled House?
In solidarity,
Adrastos Da Silva
