Despite not holding onto our House majority, this is a huge win for our democracy. By winning the Senate majority again, we can continue to fend off the GOP’s extremist agenda and protect Americans’ civil liberties and our democracy from their ruthless attacks. If House Republicans try to ban abortion? The Democratic Senate will stop it. If House Republicans try to attack LGBTQ+ rights? The Democratic Senate will stop it. If House Republicans try to rig and undermine our democracy? The Democratic Senate will stop it. That’s what the Senate majority means.
The work we did to fight off a red wave this year and stop MAGA Republicans from taking full control of Congress has paid off, and the freedom of everyday Americans and our very democracy live to fight another day as a result.
