SEEC will continue to be the loudest voice in Congress, calling for immediate action on climate change, protecting our environment, and transitioning to a clean energy future. We will not back down from this fight.

John,

The dust from the midterm elections has finally settled, and while there are still a few races left to be called, the GOP has taken control of the House.

But here’s the good news: their majority is a slim one, and our SEEC ranks are stronger than ever. 72 of our 73 SEEC Members who ran for reelection have won their elections, and 14 of our endorsed candidates are joining our ranks in the House!

While we stopped the “red wave” this cycle, there are still huge repercussions to our climate fighting capabilities. Republican control of the House means losing ground on funding clean energy projects, needing to play defense on protecting our public lands from being turned into massive oil drilling sites, and risks of agencies being undermined. And with this Trump-stacked Supreme Court, they’ll think they’re unstoppable.

While losing control of the House is a huge blow, we cannot be defeated. Kevin McCarthy, Mitch McConnell, and Big Oil lobbyists are chomping at the bit to roll back all of the progress we’ve made for a clean energy future. It’s time to double down on our efforts to stop climate change.

SEEC will continue to be the loudest voice in Congress, calling for immediate action on climate change, protecting our environment, and transitioning to a clean energy future. We will not back down from this fight. If you’re able to, consider making a donation of $3 or more today to let our SEEC Members know that we’ve got their back for whatever Speaker McCarthy (we hate how that sounds) throws our way.

Thanks for getting ready to fight back.

Thanks to your help in 2020, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration.
