Last night, we got the exciting news that our endorsed candidate Karen Bass officially won her race for Mayor of Los Angeles! 🎉 This marks the first time LA will have a WOMAN MAYOR!

Bass beat out a lifelong “pro-life” Republican, Rick Caruso, who has donated MILLIONS of dollars to anti-abortion candidates and causes over the years. It’s also worth mentioning that his campaign spent 12x more than the Bass campaign.

We are very proud to have been a part of this inspiring, historic, glass-ceiling-shattering campaign. This was a team effort – and we are so grateful for your support in making this happen.

About Karen Bass:
Mayor-elect Bass is a proud daughter of Los Angeles. Her interest in community activism was sparked while watching the Civil Rights Movement unfold during her childhood. Bass founded the Community Coalition in 1990, which empowers future African-American and Latino community leaders to work against substance abuse, poverty, and crime in South Los Angeles.

She has been a member of the U.S. Congress since 2011.
