Friend,

Just last week, at the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference, I sat in the audience as President Biden announced a slew of new initiatives and commitments to address the global climate crisis. This time, he did it with a win under his belt: the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act. The IRA represents the largest federal investment in climate ever.

At COP27, President Biden made bold promises that, if fulfilled, would position the United States as a leader in the fight to curb emissions and limit the impact of climate disaster.

In addition to recognizing the nations around the world that will bear the worst impacts of climate change, President Biden announced sweeping, landmark pledges to fund climate adaptation and resilience in those same countries. This is a vital step forward in the fight for equity and justice in the global climate movement.

What President Biden did NOT discuss — not even once — are the ways in which extraction and use of fossil fuels exacerbates the climate crisis we are ALREADY facing.

Can you sign our petition to tell President Biden that EnviroVoters support a clean, sustainable carbon-free future? [link removed]

Did you know that existing, planned fossil fuel extraction projects are set to release even more carbon than budgeted for 1.5° Celsius of warming, blowing right past the limits of the Paris Climate Agreement?

President Biden must understand that this is not an issue for the future, but an issue that we must come to terms with today.

Sign our petition now to tell Biden that we will not settle for less than an eradication of fossil fuel extraction >> [link removed]

Ask President Biden to support what the science already tells us: The United States must support a global movement to transition off fossil fuels and end fossil fuel extraction.

We’re grateful for President Biden’s work to restore our nation’s role as a global climate leader at COP27, but we need him to know that we can’t solve just half the problem. We have to go all the way.

Thank you for being an Environmental Voter.
